There are additives you can put into the mix that will actually make the mix runnier without adding ANY additional water. They are called superplasticizers and they can help the concrete cure harder as well. This is due to the increased density and reduced shrinkage. The concrete manufacturers don't really explain that to home owners that grab pre mix concrete from the store and just use water alone. 3 quarts of water is the optimal amount of water for the strongest concrete but it is not workable. I know a curbing company that makes a powdered product called Curb Gravy that does this. You should try it on your next project. I think they send out small samples you can try before you buy a bucket of the stuff. Go to http://www.borderlineusa.com for this additive and call their number for a sample. This stuff is amazing. I've seen new concrete slabs homeowners do around their house and they crumble and fall apart due to mixing with too much water to get it to "pour" and have good workablility. So check it out its awesome. No more beating and tamping the concrete cause it will flow into the form no problem. Just vibrate the are bubbles out and you are good to go.

My teacher always said, “there’s two types of concrete. Concrete that hasn’t cracked and concrete that has cracked. Guide the crack. Thanks for the video non the less.
