It rains just about everyday lately here in the Northeast!
that is so cool, and looks terribly easy, thanks
I was told not to use concrete pavers that I have, to build a firepit. I was told that concrete will pop and explode when in direct contact with fire. Have you ever found this to be true? Would you have to line it with a fire ring or something else?
Never had an issue. Companies sell fire pit kits at Home Depot and Lowes using concrete blocks. The only way I could conceivably seem them exploding was if water was trapped inside them. But if water got in, it should be able to get out or steam off, if you will.
what is the diameter of this fire place
Do you find that 36 diameter is too big for the firepit? I was thinking more like 30".
Is 2 courses (about 8") high enough? Most other videos I've been watching uses up tp 5 courses.
Thanks for easy, affordable and good advise. I plan to have a nice fire going tomorrow night in our brand new pit. Shopping for pavers and stones today. Thanks again!!!!!
I have an 8' wide fire pit. Good size. Concrete will change color and become brittle and crack in extreme heat. Some blocks are better than others. I also have a 3' ring of river stone around the pit to minimize fire when things pop out.
About how much in total did all of this cost, minus man power??? Thanks and great videos.
I was looking to use 9×3 pavers, what size are these? I need to know how many to buy
So no concrete or any type of bonding material is needed to stick them together?
