Does your Borax treatment kill surrounding vegetation like grass or ivy?
This doesn’t last. In my trade as a carpenter boron which is basically the same as borax, is only a topical treatment for internal use only. Rain washes it off. This is handy man work. Do it properly, if your decking is rotting, replace it with pressure treated decking. Galv or stainless fixings. Then treat your timber with a decking oil so it penetrates the timber. Coat every year or two. Make sure you have 3-5mm spacings in the wet season and your good to go. Don’t just listen to handy men and get your info from them. Do what the pros do. My 2 cents worth

Can I use borax on not stripped deck? I'm waiting for someone to fix the stability of my deck built last year (light oil stained) at the house I recently bought. After the fixing, I will strip and stain. I'm getting tired to see little things running around on my wood. Thanks in advance.
